GREEN BUILDING & HOME EFFICIENCY
Powder River Construction focuses on efforts to renew the resources of pine beetle logs, and other standing dead trees. In addition, we rely on subcontractors to provide innovative installations of products and systems that use sustainable and green materials, and achieve maximum energy efficiency in a home.
Energy efficient solar, heating and boiler systems, along with foam insulation, substantially reduces your reliance on expensive electric and gas energy supplies. In addition, kitchen cabinetry, flooring, deck materials and the use of eco-friendly products creates a more healthy and easily maintained home environment for you and your family.

THE FIRST STEP TO A GREEN HOME IS AN ENERGY EFFICIENT HOME.
Powder River Construction routinely utilizes the following building techniques for homes located in the high country of the Rockies:
Reward Wall Insulated Foam Blocks are used for the foundation walls. They have an R-factor of 32 with concrete.
Closed cell foam insulation is applied to the underside of the roof. This eliminates interior heat from escaping through the roof in the cold months
(Ice damming) and keeps the solar heat from entering the living space during the warmer months. Cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter results in a comfortable, energy efficient home!
High efficient boiler systems are used, Energy-Star rated.
Energy efficient windows, Energy-Star rated.
Caulking of all sources of air infiltration.
Composite decking for all your decks. (maintenance free)
All materials that can be recycled are separated.
Metal scrapes
Clean wood construction waste
